Tasks
General
- Collaborate with peers and interfaces in China and globally.
- Prepare relevant data and support reporting.
- Complete tasks and projects assigned by supervisors.
Supplier Management
- Support suppliers in using preventive quality methods, process capability and production processes to ensure high part quality and continuous improvement.
- Conduct potential analyses, supplier audits and process approvals; evaluate and develop supplier capability.
- Participate in supplier selection and conduct supplier evaluations.
- Propose and implement process modifications and continuous improvement measures.
- Manage interdisciplinary task-force teams across procurement, development, logistics, production and quality functions.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and drive continuous improvement.
Degree of Maturities for Assigned Parts
- Evaluate design concepts and new developments regarding quality and producibility.
- Define quality targets and coordinate with functional and module groups.
- Arrange and monitor process specifications and approve component quality specifications.
- Plan and conduct supplier audits and process approvals, evaluate results and communicate recommendations.
Initial Sampling
- Coordinate and monitor sampling processes for new types and series projects.
- Define quality requirements and testing procedures with suppliers.
- Initiate and monitor design changes when problems occur.
- Ensure test reports, releases and documentation meet quality standards.
Quality Issue Resolution
- Handle internal and supplier complaints during the startup of new type and series projects.
- Define sustainable corrective measures and monitor implementation.
- Set and monitor supplier target agreements where necessary.
- Ensure process reviews through internal and supplier process audits.
Quality Data
- Prepare quality data for assigned parts and ensure information is available for reports.
- Collect, process and update information from development, procurement, production, sales and logistics.
- Analyze quality data and trends to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required; master's degree preferred.
- Quality auditor certification preferred.
- At least 10 years of automotive or comparable quality or manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years in supplier quality management.
- Experience in at least two areas including exterior, interior, chassis, powertrain, e-powertrain or EE components; integrated software experience is a plus.
- Expert knowledge of VDA and IATF 16949.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent English; German is a plus.
