Quality Engineer- Complaint management

Mercedes-Benz Vans is expanding its battery-electric light commercial vehicle production capacity with a new plant in Jawor. We are looking for a Quality Engineer- Complaint management to join the newly established Complaint Management Team in the Quality Department.

The team analyzes supplier part issues, handles complaints, and monitors problem-solving processes with suppliers to ensure high-quality parts are delivered.

Tasks

• Organize claims and complaints concerning part issues with suppliers, coordinate with other departments and suppliers on dirt point, clean point, supply-chain sorting, and rework options, and ensure implementation.
• Plan quality-relevant activities during the claim process, including requesting and approving supplier 8D reports, and ensure sustainable corrective actions are taken.
• Conduct process audits at suppliers.
• Verify facts in cases of damage during production or delivery of new goods, clarify cost schedules and resulting claims with suppliers, and participate in negotiations.
• Review supplier documents such as product and process FMEAs, production control plans, PPAP documents, and releases for supplier parts.
• Apply quality methods and failure analysis, interpret test results in relation to existing problems and required measures, prepare interdependent tests, and ensure test-process suitability.
• Conduct tests and checks on the interaction of individual parts to ensure functionality, including functional and noise testing.
• Support product and process improvements with vendors and monitor effectiveness.
• Support analyses such as noise and vibration investigations and collaborate on solutions with other departments and vendors.
• Participate in information exchanges with complaints-department employees from other Mercedes-Benz plants.

Qualifications

• Technical university degree in mechanical engineering, vehicle technology, or equivalent education.
• More than 3 years of experience in supplier management, quality management, series quality assurance, or related production, development, planning, or technical procurement areas.
• Fluent Polish and English; German is an advantage.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA, and ISO quality standards.
• Knowledge of quality-method applications and strong data-processing skills.
• Teamwork, negotiating skills, assertiveness in difficult situations, and knowledge of current moderation and presentation techniques.
• Willingness to travel for supplier-process audits.
