Our Certification and Regulations Center plays a central role in the product development process for Mercedes-Benz passenger car and van series, supporting worldwide market launches.

The Planning and Data Analytics team works collaboratively on data-driven solutions for vehicle certification.

• Analyze existing planning and control processes in vehicle certification
• Develop data-driven and AI-supported solutions to improve transparency, efficiency and data quality
• Identify and evaluate use cases for Power BI, Microsoft Copilot and Generative AI
• Implement selected concepts and solutions as prototypes
• Create a scalable concept with recommendations for the sustainable use of Data Analytics and AI in certification

The position can start in October 2026. The final topic will be defined in consultation with the university, the student and Mercedes-Benz.

Qualifications

• Studies in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science, Big Data & Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering or a comparable degree program
• Very good written and spoken German and English
• Knowledge of Data Analytics and data visualization, ideally with Power BI
• Initial programming or automation experience, for example with VBA, Python or Power Automate
• Strong interest in new technologies, data analysis and artificial intelligence
• Initial practical experience with AI applications such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Azure AI or Power Automate AI is advantageous
• Interest in identifying, testing and establishing new AI use cases in an organization
• Ideally, experience with agile projects and tools such as Jira
• Very good analytical and conceptual thinking
• Structured, independent and solution-oriented working style
• Strong communication skills, initiative and enthusiasm for innovation
