Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
The Credit and Collections team performs daily activities including dunning and collection, dispute management and credit management, while supporting projects and process standardization initiatives for adidas Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely collection of open receivables by working closely with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure payments are allocated accurately and promptly, following up on discrepancies.
- Manage escalations, provide proactive feedback and recommend solutions aligned with department policy.
- Back up the Team Leader in complex operational situations and guide, train and support team members.
- Lead or support finance operations projects and perform periodic reviews to identify and mitigate risks.
- Manage customer relationships, resolve problems and perform root cause analysis.
- Assess customer credit risk and propose releases of credit-blocked deliveries in accordance with credit policy.
- Provide insight into accounts receivable positions to Credit & Collections leadership, Sales and Finance stakeholders.
- Track disputes, forward them to the appropriate department and follow up through closure.
- Identify improvement opportunities and support implementation.
- Support provision calculations for uncollectable balances and requests from internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain strong financial controls and update desktop procedures according to standards and policies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong finance acumen.
- Solid experience with SAP and Excel.
- Experience in a shared service environment or similar.
- Business-level English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Customer-oriented, results-driven and self-motivated team player.
- Ability to navigate complex organizations and work across functions, cultures and management styles.
- Curious and growth mindset with willingness to learn.
Education and Experience
- University degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a similar field.
- Five or more years of relevant experience in accounting or corporate finance.
- Broad and deep theoretical understanding of the job function.
