Shift Engineer (Bottling)

As a Shift Engineer, you’ll work within our bottling line of production, supporting the production of approximately 4.2 mhl per year while helping keep machinery in top condition.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Perform corrective and reactive maintenance to address defects, losses and breakdowns.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, automation and mechanical faults, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement lasting countermeasures, including risk assessments, positive interventions, safety tags, near-miss reporting and 5S activities.
• Drive Total Productive Maintenance initiatives to eliminate losses and promote lean practices.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with maintenance colleagues, operators and technicians.
• Support and guide shop-floor operators, delegating tasks when required.
• Collaborate with operators on autonomous maintenance tasks and assist the shift manager with asset-related issues.
• Identify and record non-conformities in the CMMS to support continuous improvement.
• Maintain high standards of equipment cleanliness and reliability.
• Champion and uphold HSE standards.

About the team

You’ll join HEINEKEN UK’s Supply Chain function and work within the packaging team, helping bottling, canning and other lines run smoothly and efficiently.

Who we’re looking for

• Near or full completion of an apprenticeship, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering HND or NVQ Level 3, or time served as a multiskilled engineer with an electrical bias.
• Experience in a highly automated, safety-critical manufacturing environment.
• Desirable experience with high-speed packaging lines, particularly bottling.
• Experience executing planned maintenance techniques and using computerised maintenance management systems.
• A continuous improvement mindset.
• Confidence and ability to work autonomously.

Salary: £46,740 per annum with a shift allowance of £9,373.

Contract: Permanent. Shift pattern: Panama.
