The primary role of the Senior Technical Consultant is to work closely with customers to understand and translate their business and technical requirements, propose solutions to business problems, and lead the technical delivery of the chosen design.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and run functional design workshops and create design specifications based on out-of-the-box functionality and customer requirements.
- Engage customers to address technical solutions, including challenging and validating customer requirements.
- Provide creative solutions to business problems, technology issues, and process and people challenges.
- Work with Pre-Sales and Delivery teams to support, validate, and help deliver client presentations, workshops, proof-of-concept designs, and responses to technical and business enquiries.
- Deliver ServiceNow solutions hands-on, from design and development through testing and implementation.
- Support the development and growth of services delivered by Engage ESM practices.
- Mentor and coach others while sharing best practices and knowledge.
Skills and experience
- 3+ years of software implementation experience in a development or consulting role.
- Proven leadership skills managing small teams and projects.
- Ability to produce technical and customer-facing documentation.
- Knowledge of IT and Enterprise Service Management or a large enterprise SaaS solution.
- Expertise and experience with ServiceNow or an equivalent ITSM toolset.
- ServiceNow experience in ITSM, ITBM, ITOM, CSM, or HR products is highly desirable.
- ServiceNow certifications are highly desirable.
- Experience with multiple application architectures and supporting technologies.
- Expertise with scripting languages such as Perl, JavaScript, Python, and Shell.
- Web service proficiency using REST and SOAP, along with XML and JSON knowledge.
- Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, MSSQL, or Oracle is beneficial.
- Must be prepared to travel and have legal authorisation to work in the UK.
Working model and eligibility
This is a flexible hybrid role with a minimum of 2–3 days per month in the office. Because most clients are in the UK Public Sector and Defence, Security Clearance is required. Applicants must have lived and worked in the UK for at least the last five years.
