Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
Lead and coordinate the successful planning, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of retail store development projects across Wholesale, Franchise, and Own Retail channels within Emerging Markets South. The role is responsible for ensuring delivery of store development initiatives in line with adidas global standards, budget requirements, project timelines, compliance obligations, and operational excellence objectives, while maximizing investment value across the retail portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the setup and implementation of new stores and shop-in-shop standard collaboration models by coordinating contractors, suppliers, and external parties.
- Support new store setup, shop-in-shop processes, renovations, maintenance, and IT-related matters.
- Assist the Store Development Manager in creating the BPM with Finance and managing project budget forecasts from approval through completion.
- Follow up on local and municipal approvals, in conjunction with appointed council runners.
- Support vendor relationship and performance management, including negotiation, procurement, warranties, and vendor rebate collection.
- Facilitate information flow between third-party vendors, internal retail departments, and global counterparts.
- Help manage standards and relationships with global, Emerging Markets, and Emerging Markets South Store Development teams.
- Support and assist on multiple projects at various stages of implementation.
- Support the Store Development Manager in managing and signing off installations and providing required documentation.
- Initiate reverse logistics of excess equipment and manage store openings from timeline through opening stage.
- Place purchase orders within required lead times to ensure fulfillment for flawless implementation.
- Manage storage of fixtures and fittings for new stores and shop-in-shops with the warehouse partner.
- Manage the full store fleet maintenance schedule.
- Issue purchase orders for store development functions through the allocated Ariba system.
- Update and manage the rollout plan and issue it to relevant business partners.
- Support and co-manage the non-trade procurement process with local Store Development and Global teams for tenders, renewals, vendor onboarding, and contracts with Legal to ensure compliance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong and clear communication skills.
- Basic understanding of construction processes and methodologies.
- Ability to read and understand construction technical drawings.
- Strong administration and project management skills.
- Technical knowledge of a wide range of construction materials and their usage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; AutoCAD is beneficial.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
- University degree, ideally with a project management focus.
- 7 years of experience in retail store development, construction project coordination, facilities management, or a related environment.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exposure to procurement, vendor management, and contract administration.
- Experience within retail, FMCG, or commercial property environments preferred.
- Experience with maintenance management across multiple retail locations is advantageous.
