Your role
We are looking for a skilled Senior Python Backend Engineer to join a global digital transformation initiative focused on building and enhancing scalable backend services, APIs, and cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python development, RESTful API design, data processing, and cloud technologies, with a passion for delivering high-quality, secure, and maintainable software.
Your tasks
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and microservices using Python.
- Build and support RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Develop and optimize database solutions, write complex SQL queries, and ensure data integrity.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms using modern security standards and libraries.
- Integrate external systems and services through APIs and cloud-based platforms.
- Develop data processing workflows for structured business data and file-based integrations.
- Implement observability, monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
Your profile
- Strong hands-on experience with Python development.
- Experience building REST APIs with FastAPI, Flask, Django, or Gunicorn.
- Solid experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with authentication and security libraries including google-auth, cryptography, oauthlib, and requests-oauthlib.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry API, SDK, and instrumentation.
- Experience with data processing and file handling using xlrd, xlwt, and simplejson.
- Familiarity with requests, PyYAML, and jsonschema.
- Understanding of software design principles, API best practices, and secure coding standards.
- Experience with version control systems and Agile methodologies.
Nice to have: Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
