Senior Python Engineer (AWS)

About the Client

Our client is a well-established US technology company in the fintech domain, providing modern digital financial solutions to millions of customers. The team works on large-scale cloud-native platforms, leveraging modern engineering practices and distributed systems technologies.

What You'll Do

• Own and deliver quarterly objectives for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve complex, open-ended problems and ensuring successful execution.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Design, and Analytics teams throughout the product development lifecycle, contributing to ideation, defining technical constraints, and helping evaluate risks and trade-offs.
• Proactively identify project, process, technology, or business challenges and take a leading role in driving solutions.
• Support the reliability and availability of services owned by your team by defining and monitoring key metrics, participating in incident management, and contributing to operational excellence and on-call activities.
• Foster a culture of quality, engineering excellence, and ownership by establishing and promoting best practices for software design, architecture, and code reviews.
• Mentor and support other engineers by providing constructive feedback, sharing knowledge, and leading by example.

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering scalable backend systems using technologies such as Python, Kotlin, or similar programming languages.
• Proven experience building and maintaining highly available distributed systems in cloud environments, leveraging technologies such as AWS, MySQL, Spark, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong ability to define and execute technical plans for significant features or system components, with a focus on scalable, maintainable, and extensible design.
• Experience working within large codebases, implementing substantial changes safely through engineering best practices, automation, testing, and deployment processes.
• Demonstrated ownership mindset with a commitment to continuous learning, professional growth, and proactive feedback.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed and global engineering teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in high-scale, customer-facing platforms.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction across teams.
