Purpose
A key player in Global Sourcing, driving Sourcing’s vision to be the most agile, competitive, digitalized, and cleanest supply base in the industry. Lead the overall business of operation centers, designated factories, or factory groups and manage relationships between adidas Group and Tier 1 suppliers to ensure adidas Sourcing objectives are met.
Key responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of adidas Product Creation systems and processes.
- Drive continuous improvement, change management, training, account management, and escalations for Product Creation systems used by Sourcing teams.
- Conduct organizational performance analysis and identify improvement opportunities across functional areas.
- Support, optimize, update, and implement policies and procedures relevant to Sourcing.
- Collaborate across functions to identify and resolve obstacles to Product Creation.
- Ensure sourcing operations comply with adidas’ Responsible Sourcing & Purchasing Policy, adidas standards, and legal requirements.
- Lead sourcing operations and functions across designated factory groups or operation centers in line with global sourcing strategies.
- Lead Development & Commercialization and Production teams, ensuring expected responsibilities and company standards are met.
- Own KPI performance and supplier-group relationships within assigned countries of origin.
- Drive quality, manufacturing excellence, continuous improvement, SPIKE, and Tier 1/Tier 2 alignment initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with factory senior management and internal functional leads.
- Represent operations internally and externally and support allocation processes.
- Ensure compliance with local laws and requirements related to human rights, health and safety, and the environment.
- Develop, coach, and engage team members while improving the work environment.
- Streamline processes through continuous improvement techniques and challenge existing standards.
- Own Direct Development audits to ensure virtual and physical samples meet adidas standards and design intent.
- Role-model leadership supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Key relationships
Global Sourcing Headquarters, laboratories, factories, Product Operations, Social and Environmental Affairs, Government Affairs, suppliers, transport, logistics, and customs stakeholders.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Wide experience with sourcing management concepts in consumer goods.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, influencing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work with multidimensional teams.
Qualifications
- University degree in engineering, product creation, or a related area.
- Minimum 7 years of work experience, ideally including 5 years in product creation or manufacturing and managerial positions.
