Purpose and overall relevance for the organization
Ensure that commercial and business relationships and engagements with suppliers are handled according to policies, commercials, risks and procurement best practices for non-trade categories. Lead the development and execution of procurement strategies in alignment with senior management, business partners and the global category management team. Maximize profitability and compliance by managing the sourcing process for all materials and services.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement Non-Trade Procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Build relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Drive sourcing and supplier strategies while ensuring compliance with procurement policies and standards.
- Develop and manage supplier rosters.
- Lead vendor selection and proposal processes and negotiate contracts and purchase orders.
- Lead cross-functional procurement and general development projects.
- Drive supplier selection, tender processes, contract negotiations and dispute resolution.
- Enable spend transparency and optimize procedures and costs with Finance and stakeholders.
- Drive innovation, continuous improvement and Procurement organization capability growth.
- Act as an ambassador for Procurement.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Knowledge of sourcing, procurement and supply-chain methodologies, including TCO and life-cycle concepts.
- Knowledge of supply-base dynamics, cost levers, technologies and procedural best practices.
- Experience developing category strategies and managing agency selection.
- Stakeholder and supplier relationship management experience, including procurement-related legislation and contracts.
- Excellent analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Project management experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP/SRM is a plus.
- Fluent written and spoken English and an international, diverse mindset.
- Travel up to 25%.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university in business, economics, finance, procurement or legal studies; an MBA is a plus. Eight to ten years of work experience, including at least three years of procurement or related industry-specific experience, is required.
Work setting and benefits
This is a hybrid position in Spartanburg, South Carolina, with office attendance Monday through Thursday and remote flexibility on Fridays.
