What You'll Do as Senior Legal Counsel
- Strategic Legal Partnering: Provide commercially focused legal advice that supports Primark's omnichannel growth, influencing key business decisions across ecommerce, customer engagement, digital, logistics and technology initiatives.
- Lead Commercial Negotiations: Draft, negotiate and conclude complex commercial agreements, partnering with stakeholders and external counsel to secure the best outcomes for the business.
- Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build trusted relationships across Technology, Digital, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, and People & Culture to deliver practical legal solutions that enable business objectives.
- Shape Business Decision-Making: Influence strategic and operational decisions by providing clear, risk-based legal guidance to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Strengthen Legal Operations & Capability: Support the development of a high-performing legal function by driving process improvements, promoting efficient ways of working, and contributing to team development and knowledge sharing.
- Manage Risk & Regulatory Compliance: Monitor emerging legal and regulatory developments, collaborate with compliance teams and external advisers, and ensure legal risks are effectively managed to support Primark's expansion ambitions.
What You'll Bring
- Qualified lawyer with 7–10+ years' post-qualification experience gained within a leading law firm and/or a dynamic in-house legal environment.
- Proven experience advising senior stakeholders on legal risk, business strategy, and complex transformation or operational change programmes.
- Strong commercial judgement with extensive experience drafting, negotiating and advising on a broad range of complex commercial agreements.
- A track record of successfully supporting and coordinating large-scale projects, balancing legal, commercial and operational priorities to drive successful outcomes.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships, challenge constructively and influence decision-making at all levels of an organisation.
- Ability to navigate complex legal issues with confidence, develop practical legal strategies and deliver clear, commercially focused advice in a fast-paced environment.
