About the role
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to join Global Credit Risk Underwriting in Stuttgart, Germany. The role involves analyzing, structuring, and approving complex corporate, dealer, and structured finance transactions across international markets.
Responsibilities
- Independently analyze, structure, and underwrite complex corporate, dealer, and structured finance transactions with international exposure.
- Prepare credit recommendations and risk assessments for management and credit decision-making committees.
- Conduct financial statement analysis, cash flow assessment, industry evaluation, and transaction structuring reviews.
- Support acquisition financings, restructurings, special situations, syndicated transactions, and other strategically important financings.
- Act as a central credit authority for transactions exceeding local approval mandates.
- Prepare and present credit decisions and executive briefings to senior management and global credit committees.
- Guide and support international credit teams on complex risk matters.
- Contribute to credit policies, rating methodologies, underwriting standards, decision-making frameworks, and digitalization initiatives.
- Help shape global credit risk strategy and maintain portfolio quality and risk governance standards.
Qualifications
- University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in financial statement analysis, corporate credit analysis, and credit risk assessment.
- In-depth understanding of credit structures, collateral concepts, covenant frameworks, and risk mitigation techniques.
- Fluent English communication skills; German is advantageous but not required.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- At least five years of relevant experience in credit underwriting, credit risk management, or corporate banking within a major financial institution.
- Experience in Corporate Banking, Corporate Finance, Structured Finance, Leveraged Finance, Credit Risk Management, Workout, or Large Exposure Management.
- Track record analyzing and approving complex corporate credit transactions.
- Experience with international stakeholders and large-organization decision-making processes.
- Exposure to syndicated lending, acquisition finance, or large-scale corporate lending is highly desirable.
