Job Description
This position is fully based in Montreal. We are actively seeking candidates currently located in Europe who are open to relocating to Canada.
We are looking for a Safety Engineer for advanced vehicle systems to support the design, analysis, and validation of safety-critical automotive features. The role focuses on ensuring functional safety and system robustness for advanced vehicle subsystems, including ADAS, E/E architecture, actuators, and sensors.
Responsibilities
- Conduct functional safety analyses using FMEA, STPA, and SOTIF for advanced vehicle systems.
- Support system design verification and validation activities to ensure safety compliance.
- Collaborate with software, electrical, and vehicle subsystem teams to integrate safety requirements.
- Develop and maintain safety documentation, including requirements, hazard analyses, and verification evidence.
- Identify and mitigate potential failure modes in advanced vehicle components.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with functional safety in automotive systems, including ISO 26262 and ISO 21448.
- Familiarity with ADAS or advanced vehicle subsystems.
- Practical knowledge of FMEA, STPA, or SOTIF methods.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
