Objective of Job

Design, develop, and deploy robotic systems and automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency, quality, and safety across manufacturing and logistics processes. Translate operational requirements into robust robotic architectures, integrating hardware, software, and control systems into production-ready solutions. Partner with engineering, operations, and innovation teams to evaluate, prototype, and scale robotics capabilities through structured delivery processes (Gate 0–3), ensuring compliance with safety standards and long-term maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

Robotics System Design & Development

  • Design and develop robotic systems including manipulators, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and collaborative robots (cobots) for production and logistics environments.
  • Develop control algorithms, motion planning, and sensor integration for reliable and safe robotic operations.
  • Create simulation models and digital twins to validate system designs before physical deployment.
  • Define hardware specifications, interface requirements, and integration architectures for robotic cells and systems.

Integration & Commissioning

  • Lead the integration of robotic systems with existing production lines, PLCs, MES, and warehouse management systems.
  • Manage commissioning activities including programming, calibration, testing, and performance validation.
  • Develop and execute test protocols to verify system safety, reliability, and cycle-time requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with CE marking, machinery directives, and functional safety standards (ISO 10218, ISO/TS 15066).

Software & Controls Engineering

  • Develop robot programs using technologies such as KUKA KRL, ABB RAPID, Universal Robots Script, and ROS/ROS2.
  • Implement vision systems, force/torque sensing, and AI-based perception for adaptive robotic tasks.
  • Design and maintain PLC interfaces, communication protocols including OPC-UA and MQTT, and SCADA integration.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Evaluate emerging robotics technologies, sensors, and AI capabilities for potential application in operations.
  • Conduct proof-of-concept development and pilot projects for new automation solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of existing robotic installations through performance monitoring and optimization.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Translate complex robotics concepts into clear documentation and presentations for cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Prepare technical specifications, project documentation, and Gate 0–3 materials for investment decisions.
  • Act as a trusted technical partner, supporting operations teams with training, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in robotics engineering, industrial automation, or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial robots, AMRs, cobots, machine vision, and automation systems integration.
  • Proficiency in robot programming and control systems, including KUKA, ABB, UR, ROS/ROS2, and PLCs.
  • Strong understanding of robotics, motion control, sensors, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Experience integrating robotic solutions with production, logistics, MES, or warehouse systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards and robotics regulations, including ISO 10218 and ISO/TS 15066.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
