Purpose
Act in a leadership capacity to support the sales, profitability, and operational goals for the store by guiding hourly associates in day-to-day procedures and driving store objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide daily store operations and hourly associate activities to deliver excellent customer service and maximize sales.
- Provide positive reinforcement and coaching to promote staff momentum, results, and growth.
- Conduct individual and small-group training on product knowledge, store activities, job duties, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with applicant and new-hire documentation.
- Support merchandise displays in windows, showcases, and on the sales floor.
- Develop staff through customer service, training, educational tools, and communication aligned with division goals.
- Assist with staffing and labor-cost control standards.
- Acquire proficiency with the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain policy and procedure integrity and complete cash, credit, check, and other sales transactions.
- Assist with product ticketing, shipment paperwork, stockroom flow, sales-floor replenishment, and product-level communication.
- Communicate progress on floor changeovers, shipment processing, sales setups, and markdown setups.
- Perform and direct sales, customer service, merchandising, cashiering, stock location, and store upkeep duties.
- Resolve customer complaints and returned-merchandise issues while maintaining strong public relations.
- Use and teach selling techniques, including add-on sales and technical product descriptions, to achieve sales goals.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Store Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram-based instructions and solve problems in standardized situations.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and a point-of-sale system.
- Good judgment, decision-making, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, and overtime during peak sales periods.
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, and lift up to 12 kg frequently and up to 34 kg occasionally.
Qualifications
- Must have or be pursuing a high school diploma or GED.
- Three to six months of retail experience is preferred.
