Retail Store Sales Associate I - 2021, South Edmonton, Canada

Purpose

Assist customers in determining which products and services best fit their needs and interest them in adidas merchandise. Promote merchandise sales by meeting or exceeding productivity standards, maintain product and promotion awareness, manage inventory, and provide customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting adidas merchandise and provide information about products, materials, technology, and functionality.
• Uphold adidas customer service standards by listening to customers and providing product information.
• Drive and close sales using adidas selling techniques and the in-store AOS system where available.
• Complete cash, credit, debit, and other customer sales transactions accurately.
• Maintain store appearance, process and replenish merchandise, and assist with customer service inquiries.
• Support a respectful team environment and adhere to adidas brand values, sales associate competencies, policies, and procedures.
• Assist with telephone duties and inventory control.
• Perform other duties as required by store management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence and communicate effectively with customers and employees.
• Perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Use point-of-sale systems and demonstrate a basic understanding of cash register functions and procedures.
• Exercise good judgment and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
• Work varied schedules including weekends, evenings, statutory holidays, and overtime during peak sales periods.
• Stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
• Frequently lift or move up to 12 kg and occasionally lift or move up to 34 kg.
• Be proficient in English and French, both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications

• Must have or be pursuing a high school diploma or GED.
• Three to six months of retail experience is preferred.
