Quality Engineer- Complaint management (internal recruitment)

Mercedes-Benz Vans is expanding its battery-electric light commercial vehicle production capacity and is looking for highly motivated employees to shape the future of mobility at its new plant in Jawor.

We are looking for candidates for the position of Quality Engineer- Complaint management.

Join our newly established Complaint Management Team in the Quality Department. The team analyzes supplier part issues, handles complaints, and monitors problem-solving processes with suppliers to ensure high-quality parts are delivered.

Tasks

• Organize claims and complaints concerning part issues with suppliers, coordinate with other departments and suppliers on dirt point, clean point, supply-chain sorting, and rework options, and ensure implementation and execution.
• Plan quality-relevant activities during the claim process, including requesting and approving supplier 8D reports, and ensure sustainable actions are taken to prevent future failures.
• Conduct process audits at suppliers.
• Verify facts in the event of damage in production or during delivery of new goods, clarify cost schedules and resulting claims with suppliers, and participate in negotiations.
• Revise supplier documents such as product and process FMEAs, production control plans, PPAP documents, and releases under general guidance and direction for supplier parts.
• Use quality-management methods and failure analysis, interpret test results in relation to existing problems and required measures, prepare interdependent tests, and ensure test-process suitability.
• Conduct tests and checks on the interaction of individual parts to ensure functionality, including functional and noise testing.
• Support product and process improvements with vendors and monitor their effectiveness.
• Support analyses such as noise and vibration analysis and collaborate on solutions with other departments and vendors.
• Participate in information exchange with employees of the complaints departments at other Mercedes-Benz plants.

Qualifications

• Technical university degree in mechanical engineering, vehicle technology, or equivalent education.
• More than 3 years of experience in supplier management, quality management, series quality assurance, or other production-related units, development, planning, and/or technical procurement.
• Fluent Polish and English; German is an advantage.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA, and ISO quality standards.
• Knowledge of quality methods and strong data-processing skills.
• Ability to work in a team, negotiating skills, and assertiveness in difficult situations.
• Knowledge of current moderation and presentation techniques.
• Willingness to travel for business purposes to audit supplier processes.
