Job Overview
The Quality Management Campaign Rework Technician is responsible for processing recall campaigns for vehicles that are still accessible to the plant. Work includes campaign classes Prio 1, Prio 2, or Prio 3 and must be completed before vehicle delivery.
Responsibilities
- Install or replace complete major assemblies according to drawings or work instructions.
- Carry out wiring and piping according to function diagrams.
- Perform leak tests, function tests, fault analyses, and vehicle rework.
- Document faults and initiate remedial action.
- Remove and reinstall defective parts, assemblies, and major assemblies.
- Select measurement and test equipment.
- Create processing documentation, including component serial numbers, operation steps, and completion acknowledgments.
- Carry out qualification measures and train employees for new launches or cross-site recall campaigns.
- Test vehicle functions after completing work, including engine control, brakes, steering, lighting systems, and electronics.
- Use diagnostic devices and software to identify electronic faults, analyze fault codes, and implement corrective actions.
- Carry out test drives when necessary to evaluate vehicle performance, steering, noise, vibration, and stability.
- Support assembly during series introduction and create work instructions or specification documents.
- Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three or more years of relevant experience in vehicle rework, vehicle technology, or a similar position.
- ASE certifications listed below or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electronics, hydraulics, mechanical systems, quality methods, and concepts.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Understanding of quality management systems and manufacturing quality methods.
- Ability to systematically analyze and troubleshoot errors and propose solutions.
- ASE certifications: A4 Suspension & Steering, A5 Brakes, A6 Electrical/Electronic Systems, A7 Heating & Air Conditioning, A8 Engine Performance, and A9 Light Vehicle Diesel Engines.
