Purpose
Assist customers in determining which products and services best fit their needs and interest them in the merchandise. Promote merchandise sales by meeting or exceeding productivity standards, maintain awareness of product information and promotions, provide customer service, maintain inventory, and complete accurate sales transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting adidas merchandise and provide information about products, materials, technology, and functionality.
- Uphold adidas customer service standards by listening to customers’ wants and needs and providing product information.
- Drive and close sales using adidas selling techniques and the in-store AOS system where available.
- Complete cash, credit, debit, and other customer sales transactions.
- Maintain store appearance, process and replenish merchandise, and assist with customer service inquiries.
- Maintain knowledge of adidas products, programs, technology, promotions, and advertising.
- Support a respectful team environment and adhere to adidas brand values, policies, procedures, and Sales Associate competencies.
- Assist with telephone duties and inventory control.
- Perform other duties as required by store management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Possess and consistently demonstrate competencies relevant to the position.
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.
- Present information effectively to customers and employees in one-on-one and small-group situations.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations and apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Use a point-of-sale system and demonstrate a basic understanding of cash-register functions and procedures.
- Exercise good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and customer-service skills.
- Work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings, statutory holidays, and overtime during peak sales periods.
- Stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required; frequently lift or move up to 12 kg and occasionally up to 34 kg.
- Be proficient in English and French, verbally and in writing.
Qualifications
- Must have or be pursuing a high school diploma or GED.
- Three to six months of retail experience is preferred.
Health and Safety Responsibilities
Keep the workplace safe and orderly; report accidents, injuries, contraventions, unsafe conditions, hazards, and defective equipment; use required protective equipment; comply with applicable legislation and company safety policies; and follow established procedures for hazardous materials, equipment, and processes.
