Objective of job

The Program Management Midsize & Fullsize Cars team within GRC/PSVP leads strategy decision-making and alignment in China and with headquarters for product-related decisions. The team steers Mercedes-Benz activities in China across Development, Operations and Sales, managing vehicle platforms from business case approval through development into production within a joint venture structure.

The project manager steers the overall project, cooperates with cross-functional teams, and ensures project premises, milestones, and business case targets are achieved on time based on MDS guidelines.

Main tasks

• Manage cross-functional vehicle projects across Research & Development, Sales, Finance, Purchasing, Quality, and Production Planning.
• Plan timelines and track quality gates.
• Prepare management presentations for decision-making, track decisions, and report on implementation progress.
• Ensure pre-alignment of product-relevant China topics with involved departments, including Research & Development, Operations, and Sales & Marketing.
• Continuously monitor and optimize the project business case and track FM targets.
• Participate in and represent Program Management in other committees.

Qualifications

• Graduated or certified engineer in economics, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, technically oriented business administration, or a similar field.
• Fluent English skills; German language skills are an advantage.
• At least 3 years of work experience at OEMs; experience with Mercedes-Benz project steering is an advantage.
• High motivation, flexibility, commitment to delivering qualified results, and the ability to handle complicated and urgent tasks independently in a structured way.
• Excellent communication and organization skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of Mercedes-Benz project management processes, including MDS Future.
• Proficient presentation skills for various hierarchy levels.
• Team-oriented mindset and ownership.
