Job Description

Product Planning Engineer Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluation of product, process and assembly hierarchy to optimize hours per vehicle and cycle time.
• Provide the Design team with early inputs on Design for Assembly and Manufacturing needs.
• Conduct product studies and define assembly processes considering quality, safety, delivery and ergonomics.
• Associate part, tool and quality attributes with process definitions.
• Conduct preliminary line balance, TAKT time and cycle time planning.
• Design small jigs and fixtures.
• Conduct time studies using MTM or MOST standards; MTM certification is desirable.
• Suggest process enhancements by comparing with earlier product lines.
• Manage projects with responsibility for delivery, quality, time and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• Experience in Manufacturing Engineering and assembly within the automotive industry, with a strong understanding of assembly processes.
• Technical background in Assembly Planning and Digital Validation.
• Hands-on experience with General Assembly processes and problem resolution.
• Knowledge of DELMIA V5, Process Simulate, Vismockup, Teamcenter Visualization or Human Jack.
• Experience with MTM and MOST time-study techniques is desirable.
• Research-oriented approach and idea-generation skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office; coding skills are desirable.
• Strong technical comprehension, presentation, goal and result orientation, customer orientation, teamwork and communication skills.
• German language skills at business-fluent level are desirable.
