Job Overview
Monitors the factory’s performance, manages and allocates manpower, and strengthens and develops the organization’s production and planning structure. Develops, implements, and improves complex manufacturing production processes and methods.
Responsibilities
- Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality, and reliability.
- Manage continuous improvement processes to create a Lean Manufacturing environment.
- Ensure problem solving for quality issues produced within the body shop.
- Investigate problems, analyze root causes, and derive resolutions using the 8D Problem Solving Process.
- Develop operational strategies to achieve production and quality objectives.
- Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods and establishing manufacturing standards.
- Use system analysis of production methods, procedures, and process automation to drive improvements.
- Evaluate production activities and implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards.
- Develop planning standards, methods, and procedures.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to manufacturing engineers and team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a relevant field required; six years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
- More than five years of relevant experience required, preferably in Body in White.
- 3D CAD experience with tools such as Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX.
- Knowledge of quality sensors, destructive testing, geometric technologies, complex quality methods, manufacturing processes, and process technology.
- Strong data processing, communication, negotiation, and technical presentation skills.
- Experience with value stream mapping and dimensional accuracy is desired.
