Tasks

Mercedes-Benz Vans is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Body Shop Joining/Spot Welding Engineer to join its team and contribute to the development of a new, sustainable, and integrated light commercial vehicle production plant in Jawor. As Mercedes-Benz expands its battery-electric LCV production capacity, the role will help shape the future of automotive manufacturing.

Responsible for the Joining & Spot Welding process in Body-in-White, Body Shop, and Welding Shop.
Accountable for joining quality.
Analyze measurement results, identify causes of mismatches, and propose and implement corrective actions.
Create and develop Process Control Plans and respond to early signals of lost joining characteristics.
Set up and configure joining equipment, including Bosch BOS, and calibrate weld guns.
Manage and develop Quality Check strategies, including nondestructive and destructive testing, to ensure compliance with corporate standards and regulations.
Cooperate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Welding, Manufacturing, Automation, or related engineering field.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, focused on joining process management in a Welding Shop.
Extensive knowledge of Body Shop joining processes.
Experience with Process Control Plans, Statistical Process Control, data analysis tools, Ultrasonic Checking Systems, VT 1 & 2, and UT 1 & 2 is advantageous.
Experience with MFDC spot weld controllers, servo weld guns, Flow Drill Screw, and 2D/3D CAD systems is an advantage.
Strong data analysis, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles.
Fluent English; German is an advantage.
Willingness to travel to other Mercedes-Benz locations for training and knowledge sharing.
