Objective of job

To support the implementation of Mercedes-Benz’s battery project success, this role will join a task force at the supplier site, oversee production ramp-up across module and pack plants, and ensure volume output, quality compliance, and continuous improvement in line with defined KPIs.

The Production Expert will act as Technical Project Leader, monitoring key processes, rework processes, Q-gates, and traceability systems; conducting data analysis to identify quality risks; working with supplier teams to secure output efficiency, product quality, transparency, and traceability; and providing updates to stakeholders and management.

Task Description

Participate in SFM, problem solving, continuous improvement, data analysis, and onsite audits.
Secure change management and define catch-up plans based on realistic production capacity assumptions.
Set up projects, analyze complex production issues, conduct deep dives, and define and track short- and long-term measures.
Build a capability dashboard and proactively identify potential quality risks through regular data analysis.
Monitor KPIs and steer operations in accordance with the existing KPI set, including OEE, output, yield, and FTC.

Qualifications

Education: Graduated or certified engineer in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, technically oriented Business Administration, or a similar field.

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in production, production planning, supplier quality management, or quality assurance. Problem-solving experience in automobile production, supplier quality engineering, or equipment planning is required. Experience in international cooperation projects and intercultural communication in China is expected. Supplier onsite taskforce and cell production experience are advantageous.

Specific Knowledge: Strong motivation, flexibility, independent working ability, organization skills, structured working methods, and a background in production operations, quality assurance, or data analysis. Proficient in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel, and Power BI. Battery technology, development, or process knowledge is advantageous. Excellent analytical, communication, facilitation, coordination, and intercultural skills are required, along with a quality-compliance mindset.

Fluent English is required; German language skills are a plus. This is a time-limited position until 2027-07-31 or earlier.
