Tasks

Objectives:

As buyer, you will be the central contact for all commercial and sourcing activities of local projects in cooperation with development, product, project, legal and joint venture teams.
Ensure the timely implementation of purchasing for related topics.
Create requests for quotation by collecting comprehensive input from internal partners.
Visit potential suppliers, develop and align sourcing strategies, lead negotiations, and support nominations and contracts.
Create and maintain a local market map of Chinese suppliers, including technical trends and capabilities, to ensure full competition.

Fields of work

Support supplier development, strategy alignment, nominations and contracts for supplier base optimization.
Work with purchasing, operations, cost control, engineering and other project-related departments on sourcing, cost optimization, contract negotiation and change management.
Communicate with suppliers, handle complex issues, hold technical workshops and discuss technology-driven issues with engineers in China from a purchasing perspective.
Manage suppliers, conduct screening and evaluation, and support continuous improvement of purchasing processes.
Prepare and present decision and sourcing documents to management meetings.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or above in automotive, engineering, management or administration.
At least 5 years of work experience in procurement or the automotive value chain preferred.
Good understanding of relevant markets and technologies.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Continuous self-motivation, proactive spirit, quick learning skills and agility.
Strong teamwork skills and ability to work with multiple internal stakeholders.
Good spoken and written English; German language skills are preferred.
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
