Mercedes-Benz Vans is seeking a Process Engineer – Automation & Controls to support the design and implementation of modern, standardized production facilities for its greenfield production plant in Jawor, Poland. The role is part of the Control & Automation Technology team within VAN Operation Engineering and involves planning electrical engineering for automated production systems across the bodyshop, paint shop and assembly shop.

The position includes responsibility for sub-projects in plant construction and series production, supporting standardization and digital transformation across VAN locations.

Scope of duties

Plan and implement electrical engineering concepts in software and hardware for production systems.
Create invitations to tender, requirements, technical specifications and system specifications.
Control and check system designs and project progress against technical and time specifications.
Prepare and execute acceptances based on check and defect lists, including documenting and controlling results.
Further develop the automation standard for the VAN division.
Develop innovation and optimization measures.
Introduce digital systems and tools to increase efficiency in planning and production processes.
Manage projects with external and internal stakeholders.
Advise and qualify specialist departments on innovative standards and systems.

Qualifications

Degree in electrical engineering with a focus on automation technology or a comparable course of study.
Openness to new developments and willingness to learn new tasks.
Strong interest in disruptive changes and a strong desire for knowledge.
Extraordinary commitment and strong team skills.
Proficiency in English; German is desirable.
Confident manner, persuasive ability, negotiation skills and assertiveness.
High willingness to travel.
