As part of NIKE, Inc.'s North America Men's Sports Marketing Basketball team, the Principal, Sports Marketing, Team/Athlete Men's Basketball will execute the strategic vision for North America Basketball through the men's portfolio, elevating athlete and team services and supporting marketing processes and business results.
The role will inform the overall shape of the men's basketball sports marketing portfolio, leverage teams, athletes and partnerships to drive growth, and maximize and modernize contractual rights.
What You Will Work On
- Serve athletes, teams and partnerships across youth to professional basketball.
- Inform invest/divest decisions for the Men's Basketball Sports Marketing Portfolio.
- Partner with global and geographic cross-functional teams to maximize value from athlete and team partnerships.
- Align men's basketball athletes with Nike's purpose priorities, including sustainability, community, diversity and equality.
- Execute the budget with accountability for accurate forecasting and communication.
- Lead collaboratively, use data effectively and maintain focus on key priorities.
Who You Will Work With
You will report to the Senior Director of Men's Basketball Sports Marketing and work with the North America Basketball Men's Team, Sports Marketing Service Team, Brand Marketing, Energy, Athlete Business Development and Product Merchandising leaders.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of experience in Sports Marketing, Brand Marketing or a closely related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to embrace ambiguity and change, helping teams adapt and remain productive.
- Portfolio management, critical thinking and negotiation skills.
- Basketball industry knowledge across men's and women's grassroots, collegiate, NBA and WNBA levels.
- Partnership management skills and the ability to develop and leverage internal and external partnerships.
- Enterprise thinking and end-to-end business knowledge.
- Ability to drive interpersonal alignment and cross-functional collaboration at all organizational levels.
