Role Summary
We are looking for a Presales Consultant to lead transition solutioning during the presales and execution phases of large, complex IT outsourcing opportunities ranging from £10M to £200M+ TCV. The role designs, validates and costs commercially sound transition and transformation programs aligned with client requirements.
Presales Responsibilities
- Lead the transition solution stream in RFPs, RFIs and proactive proposals.
- Collaborate with Sales, Solution Managers, Delivery, Finance, HR and Legal teams to define transition approaches.
- Develop transition blueprints, project plans, staffing models, timelines, risk registers and assumptions.
- Participate in customer due diligence and identify transition constraints and transformation opportunities.
- Own the transition cost model and align it with delivery feasibility and bid targets.
- Present and defend transition solutions during client presentations and contract negotiations.
- Evaluate delivery readiness and identify capability gaps or dependencies.
- Ensure adherence to Atos governance, legal and risk management standards.
- Coordinate with Bid Managers on Atos presales processes, including Win2Deliver and RAINBOW.
- Support solution write-ups, SOW inputs, RAID logs, governance models, service readiness criteria and ramp-up plans.
Transition Execution Responsibilities
- Translate bid commitments into execution-ready transition plans, workstreams, deliverables and milestones.
- Ensure smooth handover from presales to delivery by onboarding Transition Project Managers and briefing delivery leads.
- Provide advisory support during the early stages of transition.
- Escalate delivery risks and deviations and ensure mitigation actions are taken.
- Support transition governance, dashboards, escalation paths and client reporting.
Experience and Skills
- 12–20 years of experience in an IT services organization.
- At least one project management certification such as PgMP, PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner or MSP.
- 8–10 years of transition management experience in IT or outsourcing.
- Strong client-facing, communication, stakeholder management and commercial skills.
- Experience working internationally and across geographically dispersed, multicultural teams.
- Experience with application lifecycle, Agile methodologies, IT infrastructure support, cloud and virtual solutions.
- University education, preferably an engineering degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
- Experience leading complex, multi-regional technology workstreams and large enterprise transitions.
- Domain expertise in manufacturing, healthcare or telecom is advantageous.
Leadership and Delivery Management
Leads large, geographically dispersed and multidisciplinary teams, coaches others, manages complex project portfolios, defines risk strategies and influences senior stakeholders. The role manages requirements, scope, commercial controls, change control, revenue, margin, subcontractor terms, risk and client relationships while promoting continuous improvement.
