Point of Sale Supervisor - Liberty Promenade Mitchells Plain

Purpose and overall relevance for the organization

Manage all transactions with customers accurately and efficiently on the POS system, including receiving payments, issuing receipts, gift-wrapping packages, and tracking cash and credit transactions. Ensure all sales and refund transactions run smoothly to maximize customer satisfaction. Track speed points and related weekly checklists, and ensure all House of Retail policies, rules, and procedures are followed at POS.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Manage till operator schedules to align with peak hours and avoid long queues.
• Inform management about cash overs, under-banks, and related investigations.
• Manage customer transactions using cash registers, scan goods, verify pricing, collect payments, and issue receipts, refunds, change, or tickets.
• Redeem coupons and vouchers.
• Cross-sell products, introduce new products, and sell add-ons such as socks and caps to increase UPT.
• Resolve customer complaints and provide relevant information.
• Greet customers when they enter or leave the store.
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas.
• Track transactions on balance sheets and report discrepancies.
• Bag packages and handle merchandise returns and exchanges.
• Drive CRM and NPS as the last point of customer contact in the store.
• Replenish the sales floor and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Ensure compliance with POS administration audit checks.
• Ensure cashier training and monthly or quarterly refresher training are completed.
• Deliver excellent customer service and educate consumers about adiClub to encourage interaction and membership sales.
• Ensure POS operators have the stationery required to perform their duties.
• Complete all POS-related administration daily.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Basic PC knowledge.
• Familiarity with electronic equipment such as cash registers and POS systems.
• Strong numeracy skills.

Required education and experience

• Minimum five years' work experience as a retail cashier or in a similar sales role.
• Matric certificate.
