Objective
- Lead a small-scale outsourcing engineer team of 3–5 members in project delivery, including compiling software requirements, preparing technical solutions, task breakdown and allocation, tracking delivery progress and quality, and supporting the team leader in managing outsourcing engineer performance.
- Define performance benchmarks, metrics, and goals for cockpit infotainment systems.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across the software stack, from application layers to low-level system services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure performance requirements are met throughout product development.
- Drive performance optimization for system responsiveness, boot time, graphics rendering, and power efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership in performance engineering best practices.
- Design a vehicle-side service governance solution covering service routing, load balancing, and fault tolerance for reliable embedded automotive services.
Tasks
- Lead performance architecture design, including profiling tools, data collection frameworks, and analysis pipelines.
- Conduct system-level profiling with kernel-space and user-space tools such as perf, eBPF/BCC, Ftrace, Intel VTune, Graphics Performance Analyzers, and custom instrumentation.
- Create performance models to simulate and predict the impact of features, hardware changes, and architectural decisions.
- Author performance design specifications, analysis reports, and optimization guidelines.
- Collaborate with BSP teams to optimize board support packages, device drivers, and hardware abstraction layers.
- Design and implement kernel-level optimizations for CPU frequency scaling, task scheduling, memory management, and storage I/O scheduling.
- Coordinate resources outside the team and train young engineers in performance engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in electrical engineering, computer science, automation, mechatronics, vehicle engineering, electronics, software, or a related field.
- 7+ years of system performance engineering experience, including at least 3 years focused on Linux-based embedded systems.
- Deep understanding of Linux, QNX, or Android Automotive, real-time systems, and hardware-software interaction.
- Experience designing, integrating, or developing unified performance analysis platforms or toolchains.
- Strong knowledge of Android architecture, graphics and UI performance, boot optimization, and tools including Perfetto, Systrace, GTK, and Intel VTune.
- Proficiency in C++, C, or Java and strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
