PCB Layout Design Engineer

Objective
Responsible for EMC development activities for Cockpit, ADAS, and Centralized Computing hardware products, supporting EMC design and problem resolution throughout the entire product lifecycle, from architecture definition and hardware development to testing and validation.
Ensure products meet vehicle-level and component-level EMC performance requirements through EMC design reviews, simulation and analysis, test debugging and corrective actions, as well as supplier technical reviews.
Tasks
- PCB Design & Layout Ownership (30%)
- Support PCB stack-up definition and board architecture planning.
- Define PCB design constraints and layout requirements.
- Review placement, routing and implementation quality.
- Ensure compliance with design rules and engineering guidelines.
- Drive PCB quality and design consistency across projects.
- External Layout Management (20%)
- Coordinate external PCB layout service providers.
- Clarify design requirements and review layout deliverables.
- Manage layout iterations and design changes.
- Ensure timely release of PCB manufacturing data.
- Technical Review of Internal & Supplier Designs (20%)
- Review PCB designs developed internally or by suppliers.
- Assess layout quality for high-speed, power and mixed-signal designs.
- Identify risks related to SI, PI, EMC, thermal and manufacturability.
- Support architecture and design reviews.
- Manufacturing & Product Release Support (15%)
- Support Gerber release and manufacturing package preparation.
- Review PCB fabrication and assembly considerations.
- Work with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve design-related issues.
- Improve DFM/DFT quality and production robustness.
- Methodology & Capability Development (15%)
- Develop PCB design guidelines and best practices.
- Maintain PCB libraries, rules and design standards.
- Capture lessons learned and support capability development.
- Promote platform reuse and design standardization.
Qualifications
Education: Master degree in electronic/electro-technic, computer science or similar course of studies.
Fluent English and Chinese is mandatory; German language knowledge is an advantage.
PCB Design Experience: Minimum 5 years of PCB design or layout experience; experience in complex automotive electronic products; experience with multi-layer high-speed PCB designs; full product lifecycle experience from development to production.
High-Speed Hardware Experience: Experience with Cockpit, ADAS, Domain Controller or HPC products preferred. Familiarity with DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, USB and display interfaces, and understanding of signal integrity considerations.
Supplier Collaboration Experience: Experience managing external layout resources, reviewing supplier PCB designs and supporting manufacturing-related issues preferred.
Specific Knowledge: Multi-layer PCB stack-up design, component placement optimization, high-speed routing methodologies, power and ground planning, high-density PCB implementation, DDR and PCIe design principles, automotive Ethernet, USB and display interfaces, SI/PI fundamentals, PCB fabrication processes, SMT assembly fundamentals, DFM/DFT principles, manufacturing package release, basic failure analysis, PCB design review, layout quality assessment, technical risk identification, supplier technical communication and cross-functional collaboration.
