Are you passionate about ensuring the reliability and quality of next-generation automotive software? Mercedes-Benz Digital Tech Ltd. is seeking an OTA Test and Automation Engineer to drive the validation strategy for Remote Software Update systems.
Your Role & Responsibilities
- Lead OTA Test Management: Define and execute comprehensive test strategies for Remote Software Updates, managing scope, validation schedules, and end-to-end testing across vehicle variants and ECU configurations.
- Drive Test Automation Strategy: Build and maintain automation frameworks for OTA testing, transitioning manual cases into automated scripts with CI/CD integration for HIL and SIL environments.
- Deep-Dive Issue Analysis: Analyze failure logs, identify root causes of update interruptions or failures, and work with development teams to resolve software bugs.
- Quality Reporting & Visualization: Track KPIs, generate test reports, and present OTA maturity and stability status to management and stakeholders.
- Requirements Analysis & Test Design: Review requirements and technical specifications to design test plans and map customer requirements to verifiable test cases.
- Security & Compliance Verification: Validate OTA features against cybersecurity standards and regulatory requirements such as UN R156.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify testing bottlenecks and implement tools or methodologies to accelerate validation.
- Manage Test Infrastructure & Fleet: Coordinate test vehicles, HIL benches, and reference setups, ensuring they are configured, updated, and available.
Qualifications
- Strong automotive software validation experience in Android, Linux, and QNX environments; IVI or Gateway testing is desirable.
- Deep understanding of OTA processes, rollout policies, rollback scenarios, and diagnostic update features.
- Expertise in CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, UDS, DoIP, and SOME/IP.
- Familiarity with Backend, TCU, and target ECU communication architectures.
- Experience verifying cybersecurity mechanisms such as SecOC, TLS, and digital signatures.
- Experience with Python, Robot Framework, CAPL, HIL benches, test vehicles, flashing tools, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
- Strong root-cause analysis, defect triage, risk management, and Jira/Confluence experience.
- Fluent English and Chinese communication skills.
