Job objective

Ensure that vehicles fulfill Mercedes-Benz standards regarding overall vehicle NVH and sound isolation performance for Chinese customers.

Tasks

Derive and implement China-specific NVH, sound and aero-acoustic requirements in cooperation with RD China and the global RD network.
Define performance targets, develop measures and drive implementation in vehicle projects.
Prepare and align NVH, sound and aero-acoustic release documentation.
Develop, adjust and validate testing procedures for major use cases in China.
Plan and conduct vehicle, test bench and facility testing, including evaluation and management drives.
Prepare test reports and present testing progress to relevant committees.
Document issues, reproduce problems, support root-cause analysis and track resolution status.
Develop innovative sound isolation concepts and collaborate with CAE simulation engineers and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

University degree in acoustic, aero-acoustic, mechanical, automotive, sound/audio design or a similar engineering discipline.
Experience at OEMs or suppliers in NVH, sound or aero-acoustic testing and development is preferred.
Solid knowledge of NVH, pass-by-noise, sound and aero-acoustic concepts and sound isolation packages.
Experience with acoustic measurement techniques, data acquisition systems and analysis software such as LMS Test.Lab or Head Acoustics.
Ability to conduct vehicle-level NVH testing and analyze test data.
Strong communication, presentation, planning and organizational skills.
Fluent English and Chinese are mandatory; German is an advantage.
Willingness to travel within China and internationally, with good driving skills.
