Job objective

Ensure that our vehicles fulfill Mercedes-Benz standards regarding overall vehicle NVH, sound and aero-acoustic performance for Chinese customers.

Tasks

Derive and implement China-specific requirements in cooperation with RD China and the global RD network.
Align and define NVH, sound and aero-acoustic performance targets and develop measures for vehicle projects.
Communicate and drive implementation of China-specific performance requirements through project, commodity and function integration groups.
Prepare and align NVH, sound and aero-acoustic release documentation.
Develop, adjust and validate testing procedures for major use cases in China.
Identify customer-related parameters through field research, customer observation and feedback.
Plan and conduct tests, coordinate test facilities, organize evaluation and management drives, and create test reports.
Document issues, reproduce problems, support analysis and report failure-solving status.

Qualifications

University degree in acoustic or aero-acoustic engineering, mechanical or automotive engineering, sound or audio design, or a similar engineering discipline.
Experience at OEMs or suppliers in NVH, sound and aero-acoustic testing and development is preferred.
Solid knowledge of NVH, sound and aero-acoustic concepts and powertrain integration.
Experience with vehicle-level NVH testing, data acquisition systems and analysis software such as LMS Test.Lab, Head Acoustics or PAK Artemis.
Knowledge of sound cancellation techniques such as Engine Order Cancellation is beneficial.
Strong communication, presentation, planning and organizational skills.
Fluent English and Chinese are mandatory; German is an advantage.
Willingness to travel in China and abroad and good driving skills.
