Job Description
- Project & Product Management
- Take responsibility for project outcomes in line with business objectives.
- Communicate with stakeholders and manage expectations.
- Lead project members, vendors, and supporters through each project phase.
- Demand Management & Solution Design
- Research future business demand and IT trends for the Retail & Customer Experience domain.
- Design IT solutions based on business demand and Mercedes-Benz standard requirements.
- Establish, communicate, and lead implementation decision-making processes.
- Service Delivery & Operation
- Supervise and support software-change owners and IT partners from a business-process perspective.
- Track major incidents and drive resolution.
- Analyze critical-incident root causes and implement fixes with responsible vendors.
- IT Strategy & Planning
- Prepare input for the mid-term IT plan in line with business objectives, the IT mission, and the application landscape vision.
- Finalize the strategic plan with the supervisor and break it down into annual plans with budget planning.
- Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Evaluate supplier performance with the supervisor.
- Manage suppliers to deliver strong performance at low cost in accordance with the sourcing strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, information technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English, including participation in meetings, presentations, and technical or business documentation.
- At least five years’ experience in application-system development and/or IT service operation.
- Project-member experience on at least three projects and project-manager experience on at least two projects.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture, IT solutions, cloud technology, IT security, ITIL, project management, and quality management.
- ITIL, PMP, SAFe, cloud, database, or network certifications are preferred.
- Strong stakeholder communication, solution evaluation, testing, service-operation design, KPI reporting, supplier management, and IT financial-management skills.
- Japanese and English communication, agility, teamwork, negotiation, customer orientation, resilience, innovation, and continuous-learning capabilities.
