This position is a 1-year contract supporting strategic HR consulting, HR transformation, HR product portfolio solutions, talent management, and stakeholder governance for Mercedes-Benz Japan.
Tasks
- Support strategic HR consulting and project coordination
- Support HR consulting requests initiated via MyHR Service tickets under the guidance of senior HR Consultants.
- Assist in coordinating HR projects across departments or locations.
- Prepare analyses, presentations, and recommendations for business stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment with business needs and HR frameworks.
- Support the design and implementation of organizational structures and target operating models.
- Support the HR transformation
- Act as a project member for Japan.
- Clarify Japanese requirements to Regional Hub Coordinators, Global Functional Teams, and other stakeholders.
- Test feature deliveries and document deviations from defined requirements.
- Prepare the rollout of the target operating model, including stakeholder information.
- Apply HR product portfolio solutions
- Support the delivery of tailored HR solutions using the standard HR product portfolio.
- Analyze business needs and recommend appropriate HR offerings.
- Coordinate with GFT and HR specialist teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Collect feedback to improve HR services.
- Support talent management for key employees
- Assist with talent management processes for L4/L5 populations.
- Support succession planning, development plans, and performance reviews.
- Prepare data and insights for talent discussions.
- Ensure data quality and documentation consistency.
- Stakeholder support and governance coordination
- Participate in meetings and committees to represent the HR function.
- Prepare reports, proposals, and presentations for leadership discussions.
- Support communication between HR and business stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to local policies, labor practices, and compliance requirements in Japan.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, or a comparable field.
- Fluent Japanese and business-level English.
- Basic command of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to leverage digital tools and AI to improve efficiency.
- Familiarity with HR systems and digital tools such as Workday and ticketing systems is desired.

- Structured thinking and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills in Japanese and English.
- Stakeholder orientation and ability to support senior discussions.
- High learning agility and curiosity about HR consulting topics.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Work experience
- 2–4 years of experience in HR, consulting, or business support roles.
- Exposure to talent management, organizational development, or HR operations is preferred.
- Initial experience in project support or stakeholder coordination is an advantage.
- Experience in a Japanese corporate environment or multinational company is beneficial.
