Overview of This Position

Mercedes-Benz Finance Japan (MBF) provides leasing and loan products that support customers throughout the vehicle ownership journey. The Data, Analytics & BI team transforms complex data into insights for sales, risk management, finance, and operations.

As a Reporting & Data Analyst, you will transform complex data into actionable insights and business value. You will collaborate with product owners to deliver scalable, end-to-end BI solutions, including dashboards and reports, while bridging business needs and technical solutions.

BI Product (Power BI)

  • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end Power BI dashboards and analytical products.
  • Define and standardize business KPIs, metrics, and semantic models.
  • Deploy and manage solutions in Power BI services, including workspaces, apps, and datasets.
  • Leverage AI-enabled features where relevant to enhance analytical and automation value.
  • Improve BI development standards, visualization best practices, and user adoption.

Operational Reporting

  • Maintain, enhance, and support SSRS reports for operational, financial, and regulatory reporting.
  • Streamline enterprise report inventories and improve reporting governance.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize query performance, report execution, and scheduling.
  • Manage report user access.

Data Governance

  • Implement data quality controls, validation checks, and reconciliation processes.
  • Manage metadata across Corporate Data Catalog and Databricks Unity Catalog.
  • Contribute to enterprise data standards, governance frameworks, and master data management.
  • Improve data stewardship, documentation, and compliance with policies.

Data Engineer and Deputy to Data Engineer

  • Support preparation, transformation, and integration of data pipelines.
  • Assist with ETL development, data modelling, and optimization across cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Contribute to automation and standardization initiatives that improve data delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a comparable field.
  • Several years of experience in IT, finance, financial services, or a comparable area.
  • Office English is mandatory; conversational Japanese is required.
  • At least three years of relevant experience with data visualization.
  • Experience with Tableau or Power BI, SQL/DAX, Power BI semantic models or Databricks, and Git.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft T-SQL, SSAS, SSRS, Visual Studio, GitHub, and Microsoft Office.
