Material Planning Specialist

Main Objectives

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for assuring, on a continual basis, that an uninterrupted flow of production material is available to support the vehicle production process. It also monitors inventory levels, expedites material, and audits material adjustment transactions to support a minimum-inventory production process.

Main Tasks

• Order all series production material, sample parts, prototype trial parts, and repair parts with international supply chain material.
• Direct and assist suppliers to ensure material is shipped in accordance with the material released and that correct shipment communication is attained.
• Monitor production parts continuously to prevent shortages and report deficiencies to management.
• Ensure proper balance-out procedures are followed to minimize obsolescence and investigate, track, and dispose of obsolete material.
• Review the internal database for daily plant impact; provide, request, and analyze root causes and request countermeasures for delivery issues.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and track and report all open invoices.
• Analyze engineering change documents and provide implementation dates through coordination with external partners.
• Monitor and correct all advanced shipping notice transmissions.

Qualifications

• University degree in business administration, business informatics, industrial engineering, or supply chain management.
• Business-fluent English; colloquial German desired.
• Experience in project management or supply chain.
• General business knowledge and knowledge of OEM production processes.
• Experience moderating and presenting to larger groups.
• Extensive knowledge and application of MS Office and other relevant systems.
• Independent and structured working style, quick comprehension, resilience, organizational talent, integrity, loyalty, strong communication skills, adaptability, pragmatic problem-solving skills, and analytical skills.
