Purpose

The adidas Indy Technology Consultant identifies business opportunities and translates them into practical technology solutions through business case development, process analysis, process mapping, use-case definition, and solution planning and configuration.

The role provides expert guidance on applications and systems, supports end users, and helps shape solutions that meet business needs while aligning with adidas technology standards. The Technology Consultant serves as the face of adidas Technology to the business, acting as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams.

This position partners closely with stakeholders across distribution, operations, and manufacturing functions within the Indianapolis manufacturing and distribution center. A strong understanding of warehouse, supply chain, and operational processes is critical.

The role also helps business partners evaluate and adopt artificial intelligence, low-code and no-code platforms, and automation while remaining aligned with adidas standards, security requirements, and long-term strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate a consolidated business and technology roadmap for the Indianapolis location.
  • Analyze operational needs, business challenges, and improvement opportunities across automated and non-automated processes.
  • Build business cases and support demand intake in alignment with adidas standards and governance practices.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to assess, prioritize, and sequence enhancements and project requests.
  • Support acceptance criteria and test approaches for recommended solutions.

Requirements Definition and Management

  • Lead scoping, requirements definition, and prioritization activities for small-scale changes and contribute to larger initiatives.
  • Elicit, document, validate, prioritize, and maintain traceability for detailed business and technical requirements.
  • Review requirements for completeness, quality, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to scope, requirements, and delivery.
  • Manage approved changes to baseline requirements according to change management policy.

Managing and Porting Software Configuration

  • Support software and equipment configuration, including system testing of platform-specific versions.
  • Document defects, implement resolutions, and coordinate retesting.
  • Act as project manager for small-scale enhancements by defining scope, timelines, and deliverables and coordinating cross-functional resources.

Application Support

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues according to agreed support procedures.
  • Use application management tools to monitor performance and collect service and performance metrics.
  • Perform application maintenance activities to support stable operations.

Required Education and Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in IT.
  • Four-year college or university degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in IT business analysis and demand management.
  • At least 1 year of team leadership or informal cross-functional leadership experience.
  • Experience leading change initiatives, developing test cases, facilitating user testing, and delivering executive communications.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities.
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or equivalent delivery frameworks.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Office 365, Microsoft Copilot, Visio, Teams, and Loop.
  • Experience working across cultures and in projects involving multiple functions, teams, or markets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supply chain or manufacturing certifications such as APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or MAPICS.
  • Technical business analysis certifications such as CBAP or PMI-PBA.
  • Experience with low-code or no-code platforms, MS SQL, AI tools, prompt engineering, AI agents, RPA, and end-user training.
