Job Overview

Assure fulfillment of the Regional Information Security Officer line function and lead the Information Security Team within the Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Americas organization. The role partners with the global Cybersecurity team and business units to identify and mitigate information security risks, improve security continuously, and support corporate security initiatives.

The role is also responsible for securing and governing cloud and AI platforms, ensuring resilient architecture, compliant data usage, and trusted deployment of AI capabilities. It provides strategic cybersecurity direction aligned with Mercedes-Benz global standards, regulatory frameworks including A22.1 and RISE 2.0, and the organization’s risk appetite.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategy aligned with business objectives and evolving threats.
  • Drive cybersecurity maturity assessments, gap remediation, and continuous improvement.
  • Advise senior leadership on cyber risks, emerging threats, regulatory impacts, and required investments.
  • Define, maintain, and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, and architectural principles.
  • Ensure compliance with A22, RISE, ISO/IEC 27000, GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Oversee risk management, exceptions, deviations, and non-compliance escalations.
  • Govern the secure and ethical adoption of AI and emerging technologies.
  • Manage the enterprise information-security program and embed Security-by-Design and DevSecOps practices.
  • Track vulnerabilities, audit findings, operational gaps, and incident-response activities.
  • Conduct cybersecurity assessments and support internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with Global Cyber Security, Compliance, DPO/LCOs, BISOs, IT, Legal, and other security stakeholders.
  • Establish data privacy, classification, protection, lifecycle, and secure-handling controls.
  • Lead third-party and supply-chain cybersecurity risk management.
  • Monitor infrastructure, cloud, and applications; define KPIs and KRIs; and provide executive reporting.
  • Oversee business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Drive security awareness, education, training, and shared-responsibility culture.
  • Implement AI security controls, model-security reviews, monitoring, red-teaming, and protections against prompt injection, model poisoning, data leakage, and adversarial attacks.
  • Oversee multi-cloud security, IAM, encryption, network segmentation, workload protection, configuration governance, and Zero Trust alignment.
  • Lead daily team operations, coaching, development, performance, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States at the time of application.
  • Minimum five years of overall work experience.
  • Strong cybersecurity background, including large-scale IT product rollouts.
  • Experience with networking, cloud-based applications, server hardening, security baselines, patch management, and remediation.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer/Information Science or Information Technology.
  • CISSP is preferred; CCSP or AZ-500 Azure Security Engineer certifications are highly recommended.
  • Knowledge of IT guidelines, corporate policies, standards, risk assessment, security controls, application architecture, integration, lifecycle management, Zero Trust Architecture, AI security governance, and cloud security frameworks.
  • Proficiency with DevOps tools and practices and strong knowledge of cybersecurity and management frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
