We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Batch Scheduling Specialist to administer Tivoli Workload Scheduler (OPC) environments on z/OS. The role is responsible for reliable batch processing, incident resolution, automation, and supporting production-critical workloads in an ITIL-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain OPC scheduler objects, including job streams, calendars, run cycles, and dependencies.
- Plan, schedule, and control daily production workloads; coordinate new batch deployments.
- Monitor batch execution, investigate and resolve failures and abends, and perform manual restarts and recovery.
- Design and improve automated workflows, event and dataset triggers, and alerting to reduce manual effort.
- Implement changes according to ITIL; document procedures and manage incidents and changes via ServiceNow.
Required Skills & Tools
- IBM TWS / IBM OPC (z Tivoli Workload Scheduler)
- z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and SDSF
- Batch operations and job recovery/restart procedures
- ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management
Preferred Skills
- CA7 familiarity
- REXX, RACF, DB2, IMS, and FTP/file-transfer knowledge
- ServiceNow, eZ Scheduler, EPV reporting, and scripting or automation tools
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3–8+ years in mainframe batch scheduling or production control
Soft Skills
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills

Batch success rate, SLA compliance, incident resolution time, and scheduler availability.
