Mainframe Application Architect

Atos is looking for a Mainframe Application Architect.

Location: Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai

Type of Hire: Full-Time

Mandatory Skills

• 15+ years of experience in mainframe application development with proficiency in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, DB2, IMS, ReXX, EZT and related mainframe technologies.
• Exposure to hybrid architecture involving mainframe and distributed applications.
• Experience with mainframe performance tuning, including API integration, monolith code componentization, SMF log analysis and database fine-tuning.
• Understanding of SDLC methodologies and best practices, with working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD.
• Experience with version control systems and software configuration management tools.
• Familiarity with testing methodologies and tools for mainframe applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality code and solutions.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of modern programming languages and frameworks such as Java, .NET or Python and their integration with mainframe systems.
• Understanding of AI principles and their application in mainframe modernization.
• Exposure to mainframe modernization principles and toolsets such as Rocket and AWS Transform.
