Lead Fullstack Engineer

Atos is seeking an experienced Designer / Lead Developer to join its Public Sector team. This long-term role focuses on developing and supporting ophthalmic systems and requires someone who can work independently, lead small development teams, and build deep domain and system knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Act as Lead Developer and technical designer, contributing to architecture, solution design, and hands-on implementation.
• Lead and coordinate a small team of developers and testers, ensuring quality delivery and adherence to best practices.
• Work independently to analyse, design, develop, and enhance ophthalmic system components.
• Build and maintain long-term domain knowledge of ophthalmic workflows, business rules, and system integrations.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and stakeholders to refine requirements and drive technical decisions.
• Ensure code quality, maintainability, and performance through reviews, refactoring, and standards enforcement.
• Support CI/CD processes using tools such as Jenkins and Git.
• Provide technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support where required.

Essential Skills

• Expert-level Java experience.
• Spring Framework.
• Hibernate.
• JBoss.
• Drools business rules engine.
• Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline management.
• Git for source control.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• AngularJS or similar front-end frameworks.
• Oracle PL/SQL.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong leadership skills with experience guiding small teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication capabilities.
• Experience working in healthcare, public sector, or regulated environments is advantageous.
