Atos is seeking an experienced Designer / Lead Developer to join its Public Sector team. This long-term role focuses on developing and supporting ophthalmic systems and requires someone who can work independently, lead small development teams, and build deep domain and system knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Act as Lead Developer and technical designer, contributing to architecture, solution design, and hands-on implementation.
- Lead and coordinate a small team of developers and testers, ensuring quality delivery and adherence to best practices.
- Work independently to analyse, design, develop, and enhance ophthalmic system components.
- Build and maintain long-term domain knowledge of ophthalmic workflows, business rules, and system integrations.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and stakeholders to refine requirements and drive technical decisions.
- Ensure code quality, maintainability, and performance through reviews, refactoring, and standards enforcement.
- Support CI/CD processes using tools such as Jenkins and Git.
- Provide technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support where required.
Essential Skills
- Expert-level Java experience.
- Spring Framework.
- Hibernate.
- JBoss.
- Drools business rules engine.
- Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline management.
- Git for source control.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- AngularJS or similar front-end frameworks.
- Oracle PL/SQL.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong leadership skills with experience guiding small teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication capabilities.
- Experience working in healthcare, public sector, or regulated environments is advantageous.
