Lead Designer, Basketball Apparel Graphic Design

NIKE, Inc. is seeking a Lead Designer, Basketball Apparel Graphic Design to drive graphic strategy and vision while collaborating with designers, developers, product managers, and product partners.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an exceptional Product Design Storyteller with proven design excellence, curiosity, problem-solving tenacity, and a passion for making those around them better. This designer will author powerful narratives that inspire athletes, franchises, and fans worldwide.

The role includes conceptualizing, designing, and developing uniform graphics and branding elements; integrating narrative elements into uniform design; and mentoring and developing junior designers within the design team and Nike Design community.

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, 7 or more years of graphic design experience in an agency or in-house setting, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
• Passion for current and emerging design trends and visual culture.
• Ability to translate insights into authentic narratives and visual storytelling.
• Ability to adapt to change and manage multiple competing priorities.
• Mastery of visual and verbal communication and the ability to present design intent to internal and external audiences.
• Expertise in design craft, innovation, graphic applications, prints, processes, and tools.
• Mastery of apparel product creation.
• Digital design expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud and comfort working with digital tools and 3D.
• Ability to embrace diverse points of view and foster an inclusive environment.

What You’ll Work On

You will conceptualize narratives across multiple NBA and WNBA uniforms through Graphic Visual Centers and presentations. You will collaborate with internal and external product and design partners on construction, development, insights, and presentation gates.

Typical work includes brainstorming creative strategies and reviewing uniform designs to ensure they achieve the desired goals while helping create the future of sport across licensed basketball uniforms.
