The opportunity

We are looking for an IT Security & Infrastructure Specialist to join the IT team. The role provides strategic and operational support for IT security, infrastructure and cloud services, ensuring the security, resilience, availability and fitness for purpose of MBFS SA’s technology environments and information assets.

Job overview

Reporting to the Head of IT, the specialist acts as a trusted advisor within the IT Service Delivery team, providing expertise in cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud platforms, virtual data centers and network communications. The role contributes to technology solution design, implementation and continuous improvement while preventing and resolving infrastructure-related issues.

Key tasks

  • Ensure the security, integrity, availability and resilience of on-premises and cloud-based IT infrastructure.
  • Lead and support cloud transformation and migration initiatives, including application, platform and infrastructure migrations.
  • Monitor, assess and mitigate cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities and emerging threats.
  • Design, implement and maintain secure cloud architectures and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
  • Maintain and optimize virtual data center, cloud, network and communications environments.
  • Support incident resolution, root cause analysis and preventative measures.
  • Drive compliance with Mercedes-Benz standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Deploy and operate data loss prevention controls and solutions, maintain high-value asset repositories, and monitor data loss prevention alerts.
  • Operate vulnerability management capabilities, perform vulnerability scans, assess risks, communicate findings and track remediation.
  • Support third-party supplier risk assessments, cloud risk assessments and global cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Resolve connectivity issues, support server setup, manage firewall rules and documentation, and maintain enterprise architecture updates.
  • Manage suppliers, projects, strategic initiatives, priorities and resource allocations within the IT team.
  • Lead and support internal and external IT security audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
  • Drive continuous service improvement across security, infrastructure and cloud capabilities.

Competences and technical knowledge

  • Strong understanding of information security, threats, vulnerabilities and data loss prevention.
  • Deep knowledge of network security architecture, including topology, protocols, components and principles.
  • Experience with data loss prevention, encryption, cryptography, tokenization, data masking, access control and public key infrastructure.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus and Nexpose.
  • Experience with virtual environments, Windows, firewalls, digital certificates, SSL, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, web security architecture, storage and backup technologies.
  • Familiarity with hardening, vulnerability assessments, security audits, penetration testing and intrusion prevention systems.
  • At least one of CIPP, CISSP or OSCP is required or must be obtained within the first 12 months.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, information security, cybersecurity or a related field.
  • Three to five years of relevant work experience in data loss prevention and vulnerability management.
  • Experience in an IT position with significant information security responsibilities.
  • Financial services, fintech, banking or automotive experience is preferred.
  • Experience leading or managing IT environments as a single point of accountability to the business.
  • Experience optimizing IT and business processes and driving cross-functional initiatives.
