Job Summary
This position is responsible for managing IT services and solutions for Logistics and Cross-Functional business areas, including business consulting, IT demand management, change management, and release management for assigned Mercedes-Benz Vans applications. The role serves as the primary IT point of contact for business stakeholders and ensures alignment of application services with global IT strategy, business requirements, and operational standards.
This position oversees the stable operation and lifecycle management of assigned applications and supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance business processes, service quality, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary IT point of contact for Logistics and Cross-Functional business stakeholders, providing business consulting and IT demand management support.
- Ensure stable day-to-day operation of production-critical systems and assigned business applications, including second-level application support, incident management, and problem management.
- Manage and coordinate application changes, system updates, releases, and enhancements with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, and external service providers.
- Lead, manage, develop, and engage assigned employees in alignment with organizational values, performance objectives, and business priorities.
- Monitor and facilitate operational IT services in accordance with agreed service levels, operational standards, and business expectations.
- Promote collaboration and seamless processes across internal IT teams to support reliable service delivery and timely issue resolution.
- Support operational budget planning, IT controlling activities, and department cost targets.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal shared services to monitor service performance and support contract and service-level agreement management.
- Perform responsibilities independently within the assigned scope of authority and complete additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Lead teams of direct and indirect reports.
- Define performance goals and conduct performance reviews.
- Communicate with and engage employees to meet objectives.
- Support employee development and qualification.
Financial Responsibilities
- Manage budget and personnel allocation efficiently.
- Convey budget distribution and cost-saving processes to colleagues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, another technical discipline, or comparable studies.
- Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in IT system development and/or IT operations.
- Proven expertise in IT application landscapes and IT infrastructure related to production and shop-floor environments.
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience collaborating with external partners and suppliers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Negotiation skills and the ability to motivate people and fulfill local requirements.
