Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. is hiring for an internship supporting Supplier Quality, Capacity Management and Procurement in North America. The role is based at the Mercedes-Benz U.S. International site in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Essential functions
- Support supplier industrialization activities during new vehicle launches.
- Monitor supplier readiness and milestone achievement throughout the development process.
- Assist with supplier performance tracking and KPI reporting.
- Participate in supplier risk assessments and follow-up activities.
- Support preparation of management presentations and executive summaries.
- Support development and improvement of digital reporting and dashboard tools.
Other regular daily tasks
- Update supplier readiness and project tracking reports.
- Prepare meeting minutes and action item follow-up.
- Support Quality engineers on day-to-day tasks.
- Support data collection and reporting for management reviews.
- Participate in cross-functional project meetings and workshops.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary skills and certifications:
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and quality processes.
- Data analysis and reporting skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Project management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of quality tools, including 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why and FMEA.
- Power BI or data visualization experience preferred.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in university or in a gap year between a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree.
- Studies outside the U.S.; applications from students currently studying in the U.S. are not accepted.
- A minimum of three semesters of study in a relevant field.
- Available for a minimum of six months.
Compensation and benefits
- Paid internship with an hourly rate of $18.
- Coverage of visa costs.
- $700 housing bonus.
