About Mercedes-Benz U.S. International
Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. is hiring interns to support its automotive manufacturing operations in Alabama. The company produces luxury SUV models, including electric vehicles, and high-performance lithium-ion batteries.
This is a paid internship and an equal employment opportunity.
Essential Functions
- Support commercial discussions with suppliers collaborating with MBUSI.
- Provide general support for purchasing activities, including future sourcing projects and cross-functional meeting coordination.
- Verify supplier data accuracy for claim processing and provide appropriate feedback.
- Analyze supplier claims and help assess costs under general supervision.
- Organize and support team meetings and communications.
- Lead the purchasing department's responsibility for managing a waste reduction project, working cross-functionally across MBUSI to implement and scale the process.
Other Regular Daily Tasks
- Prepare reports and presentations for management.
- Participate in negotiations with suppliers.
- Support other purchasing tasks.
Qualifications
- Create tracking systems for AGV monitoring and improve the Visual Management System for Automated Guided Vehicles.
- Be a student in Finance/Controlling, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related area, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Have experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.
- Have experience with Power BI.
- Have project management experience.
- Have teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of AM SupplyCost Engineering is preferred.
Start Date and Benefits
- Preferred start date: February 2027.
- Paid internship with an hourly rate of $18.
- Coverage of visa costs.
- $700 housing bonus.

Requirements
- Currently enrolled in university or in a gap year between a bachelor's and master's degree.
- Studies outside the United States; applications from students currently studying in the United States are not accepted.
- At least three semesters of study in a relevant field.
- Availability for a minimum of six months.
