Intern Legal AI: AI Regulations, Ethics & Digital Regulations (mandatory internship)

The “Legal AI: AI Regulations, Ethics & Digital Regulations” team in Stuttgart is part of the Corporate Data Protection & Digital Compliance Program at Mercedes-Benz Group AG. We support the responsible and legally compliant use of artificial intelligence and other digital technologies across the company.

During your mandatory internship, you will contribute to shaping a framework for the responsible use of digital technologies as part of Mercedes-Benz’s digital transformation.

Tasks

• Help shape the responsible use of digital transformation at Mercedes-Benz with other departments.
• Support the development and implementation of information and training offers.
• Conduct independent research on digital trend topics, especially AI ethics, regulation and governance.
• Contribute ideas to optimize methods, standards and processes.
• Help prepare, organize and follow up on cross-departmental workshops and dialogue formats.
• Support the preparation of top management presentations and decision-making recommendations.

Qualifications

• Currently studying law, ethics, business administration or a comparable subject with a strong affinity for IT and AI.
• Looking for a compulsory internship.
• Strong interest in AI, digital regulation and governance.
• Very good German and confident English skills.
• Confident use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Interest in new technologies and their ethical and legal challenges.
• Ideally, advanced knowledge of generative AI, machine learning, deep learning or another new technology.
• High motivation and willingness to learn.
• Flexibility and openness to work in a dynamic environment.
• Strong teamwork, communication, analytical and conceptual skills.

The internship can begin from September 2026 and must be mandatory at this location.
